Recce's

The job of a recce or location scout is to research locations which fit in with a films location and theme, they must consider a multitude of things such as weather conditions of a location (how many daylight hours, if the environments conditions are suitable for filming in such as temperatures and if the conditions could cause damage to kit). Another thing that recce's must consider is if the locations are accessible, can crew and kit make it to the location without masses of time wasted whilst travelling and once at the location, are there ways of accessing electrical outlets to ensure that the equipment needed is usable. Recce's should also account for space, is there enough space in the location for crew, cast and equipment as well as enough room to film. Lastly recce's should consider health and safety, will the location be safe enough to house an entire filming crew.
