As development for my next podcast, i believe i will create an 'update' podcast in which i will follow up on the stories i reported on. In this podcast not only will i include a follow up on the stories that i previously reported on, however an interview. As the stories i reported on are not accessible for me to ask for interviews I believe I will overcome this challenge by reporting on a story local to me so that i can interview at least two people with different perspectives on the situation which will add more factual entertainment to my podcast. Currently, I am unsure of what else i will add because i was lucky enough to add what i set out to achieve with my previous podcast such as an opening song.
As for visual effects, i could add a video to go with the podcast making it more entertaining. However as it is just me presenting, I believe that this could be slightly boring. As for incorporating the filming with my new interview aspect, I believe this would be difficult as the story i am choosing to talk about a story based on the streets of my local town, Trowbridge and this would not be ascetically pleasing to look at. After doing the research on local news websites, I have decided to report on a very serious assault story that happened during the middle of the day. I believe that this would be a good story to report on as a young student who knows many others in a similar position who rely on walking throughout the town therefore this would make a good interview.
To build on from last time I will also be adding in a background song different from last time to add some variation into my podcast.

http://www.wiltshiretimes.co.uk/news/15044151.Police_appeal_for_witnesses_after_man_robbed_in_Trowbridge/ - This article will be using for my information during the podcast which will then follow with an interview with a local Trowbridge resident. The article was written in late January of this year about a assault and robbery that happened during the evening, I will then ask Amy a series of questions that will be my interview on her opinion of the matter.

Production
After creating my plan (as seen above) I then set out with the task of writing my script, following up with my previously reported story on Southern Rail strikes, I spoke about what happened with their previously planned strikes as well as what their plans were for the future, next I reported on a local robbery and assault in the town of Trowbridge in which I interviewed Amy, who lives there. When it came down to recording my podcast, I used a handheld audio recorder using the microphone attached. I decided to do this as I used the microphone for my previous podcast and was really happy with the quality and audio levels proving that I kept the microphone level for the whole recording, therefore I felt there was no need to use other forms of recording for this podcast. Once I was happy with the positioning of the microphone I then went on to record my script, ensuring to record multiple times so that I had a variation of audio to edit from, this is something I had only learnt this time with podcasting and will use again as it is unnecessary for me to rush through the entire script in one recording, after my recording I then interviewed Amy in an outside environment to suggest that I had been out and about before approaching Amy for the interview.
After recording had been complete, I began to edit with Adobe Premiere. Once I had edited all of my own recordings together, including the interview, I proceeded with using royalty free music and dubbing it into my podcast, ensuring the audio gains were lowered so that the background music was that, in the background and my voice was the main focus. After this was done I played around with the recorded audio sounds to ensure they were all level, on reflection I wish that I had added background sound effects such as a busy station to my Southern Rail segment.
