Playing animation

For this animation, i produced my monster to be playing the Guitar. To do this I created multiple layers for the images that i wanted to move and also a layer for the background i didn't want to move, i ensured i didn't move the background by locking the image.

Feeding animation

Here is my animation of my creation eating, using the tools such as copying and pasting of frames for the repetitive parts of the GIF. I animated my monster to eat an orange, the most difficult part of this creation was knowing how to animate the gif to the monster chewing and the orange disappearing, however I tried my best.

Suggests of development for my next podcast

As development for my next podcast, i believe i will create an 'update' podcast in which i will follow up on the stories i reported on. In this podcast not only will i include a follow up on the stories that i previously reported on, however an interview. As the stories i reported on are not accessible for me to ask for interviews I believe I will overcome this challenge by reporting on a story local to me so that i can interview at least two people with different perspectives on the situation which will add more factual entertainment to my podcast. Currently, I am unsure of what else i will add because i was lucky enough to add what i set out to achieve with my previous podcast such as an opening song.

As for visual effects, i could add a video to go with the podcast making it more entertaining. However as it is just me presenting, I believe that this could be slightly boring. As for incorporating the filming with my new interview aspect, I believe this would be difficult as the story i am choosing to talk about a story based on the streets of my local town, Trowbridge and this would not be ascetically pleasing to look at. After doing the research on local news websites, I have decided to report on a very serious assault story that happened during the middle of the day. I believe that this would be a good story to report on as a young student who knows many others in a similar position who rely on walking throughout the town therefore this would make a good interview.

To build on from last time I will also be adding in a background song different from last time to add some variation into my podcast.

Research
http://www.wiltshiretimes.co.uk/news/15044151.Police_appeal_for_witnesses_after_man_robbed_in_Trowbridge/  - This article will be using for my information during the podcast which will then follow with an interview with a local Trowbridge resident. The article was written in late January of this year about a assault and robbery that happened during the evening, I will then ask Amy a series of questions that will be my interview on her opinion of the matter.

Production

After creating my plan (as seen above) I then set out with the task of writing my script, following up with my previously reported story on Southern Rail strikes, I spoke about what happened with their previously planned strikes as well as what their plans were for the future, next I reported on a local robbery and assault in the town of Trowbridge in which I interviewed Amy, who lives there. When it came down to recording my podcast, I used a handheld audio recorder using the microphone attached. I decided to do this as I used the microphone for my previous podcast and was really happy with the quality and audio levels proving that I kept the microphone level for the whole recording, therefore I felt there was no need to use other forms of recording for this podcast. Once I was happy with the positioning of the microphone I then went on to record my script, ensuring to record multiple times so that I had a variation of audio to edit from, this is something I had only learnt this time with podcasting and will use again as it is unnecessary for me to rush through the entire script in one recording, after my recording I then interviewed Amy in an outside environment to suggest that I had been out and about before approaching Amy for the interview.

After recording had been complete, I began to edit with Adobe Premiere. Once I had edited all of my own recordings together, including the interview, I proceeded with using royalty free music and dubbing it into my podcast, ensuring the audio gains were lowered so that the background music was that, in the background and my voice was the main focus. After this was done I played around with the recorded audio sounds to ensure they were all level, on reflection I wish that I had added background sound effects such as a busy station to my Southern Rail segment.

Recce sheet

Whilst creating my film i will not be using a large amount of locations during filming as there are only four main location changes, these are; Bedroom, street, park and the final destination; a bridge or high wall depending on what i found whilst out scouting.

During my scouting process I began by looking for locations throughout college and the surrounding areas of Bath, however after not finding any locations that were appealing to me, I began to look else where. I believed that the filming room provided for us would work in my favour, however the props I needed were too large to be brought in such as a bed. Due to my films theme and aesthetic, after much deliberation I came to the conclusion that filming at my house would be better as my house and its surrounding areas were perfect for my set ideas as well as being a connivence to me as I knew where there would be people in etc. My shots can be filmed in my house for the films opening scene of the character making up from a nightmare, also the streets will be empty thanks to being day time when most are out and the park in which my finale part of the film will be shot in will also be empty due to it being shot in the middle of the school day.

One of my main issues I may is the unpredictable weather, if it is raining outside then i will be unable to film outside due to possible damage to the camera. If this was to occur then my filming schedule would be set back causing other disruptions for the rest of the group. As we are filming in a house however there aren't any causes for concern yet when filming outside we need to be aware of wet ground, cars, other members of the public and also lighting problems due to the english winter having shorter hours of sun light.

shot list

After learning about the different shots used in film, i created my storyboard to then influence the types of shots i will use.

In order;

Extreme close up-her waking up
Wide shot-camera pans to show her surrounds
P.O.V shot - looking at the time
Close up- show her straight face to set the tone
Wide shot- she gets dressed puts on her coat and as she gets up whispers 'the man, ha, yeah right.'
Mid shot of her-travelling down the stairs and out the door
Mid shot- as she walks down the street to her destination passing the camera which waits 2 secs Filming the empty street behind
Wide shot- film the girl walk up to crumpled poster on floor and stand on it some more, disgusted
Wide shot- filming the man waiting on the bench, girl walks onto screen and its next to him
Close up-as they talk, notice man in background approaching quickly
Mid shot-girl gets up beginning to run
Wide shot-as she reaches the climax, the man catches up. She realises its too late and jumps
Close up-mans face blank
Close up- girl lead face down from where she jumped, dead.

santa cartoon video feedback

Merry Christmas

The twist on a traditional style of video based around the festive period and father christmas himself, its an intriguing twist and, yes uneasy to watch. I also enjoy the use of audio and how sinister the use of sound is running out of sync with the clips.

Santa's workshop

This animation is much like your classic envision of what the preparations for might be like, with use of repetitive shots allows for the animation to be symmetrical but also quite basic. the animation also includes the 'bring the toys to life' idea which is a classic relation to that of a christmas eve story.

Show Evaluation

Overall, I believe that our final show was successful in some ways, however, in others let down. Let's begin with the overall communicat...
